I believe that your special day should be meaningful and unforgettable. As a wedding officiant, I serve couples in the Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough area, creating a personalized ceremony that reflects your story, your values and beliefs, and honors the traditions of your families. I will work closely with you to ensure that your wedding, elopement, or vow renewal is unique, inclusive, and everything you've ever dreamed of.

Naming ceremonies

A naming ceremony is a wonderful way to celebrate the arrival of a baby, adopted children, or stepchildren. It is a gathering together of family and friends to reflect on the role they each will play in the life of your child.

Celebrations of Life and Funerals

Many people are looking for alternative ways to help them mark significant moments in their lives. As a humanist officiant, I hope that I can help to fill that gap. Non-religious funerals have the same status in law as religious funerals. I aspire to co-create a service that reflects what mattered most to the person being remembered.
About Me
I grew up in Owen Sound, Ontario, graduated from Trent University in Peterborough, tended bar, waitressed, sold advertising, taught English as a second language to adults and finally English to college and high school students. Now I spend as much time as possible on our farm just south of Peterborough.
Teaching has prepared me for just about any eventuality in public speaking, including frequent interruptions, surprise appearances, unforeseen technology issues and emotional reactions. Being well prepared, flexible and maintaining my sense humour are invaluable skills I have honed during my years as an educator
I think being an officiant combines the best parts of many of my life experiences. It's an opportunity to make people feel heard, and then tell their unique stories in an open minded and non-judgmental way.
